Contentos TestNet V0.1 — Big turning point in bringing digital content to life

What is Contentos Testnet v0.1?
In general, we can understand that Testnet is a testing network for a decentralized project allowing testing of experimental features. So before releasing their product, by launching a Testnet, Contentos team want to see how the consensus system works in the real life. This helps community examine their design and help us to debug, this also help App developers to see the real TPS (Transaction per Second) that their design can achieve.

- Live producing block — The fully functioning consensus mechanism
As we know, Contentos adopts dPoS, which greatly improves TPS comparing with PoW. On the basis of dPoS, it also invites BFT mechanism to further improving service response velocity and to realize iBFT algorithm. It is the consensus mechanism that could automatically be adaptive in line with system’s dynamic parameters. That’s why it is very important to experiment with the concesus mechanism before the official release. If this mechanism does not work correctly, everything created and stored on blockchain will be meaningless.
In Contentos testnet v0.1, users can view block generating status and access transaction details via the blockchain explored. Block is being produced every second, COS have 4 BP in testnet at this moment, and the key is not just about block producing time, but the time it takes to reach LIB (Last Irreversible Block) state, it’s in average 1–3 seconds. Moreover, in this version, users can create account, make a COS transactions as well as publish their own content.

- TPS (Transactions Per Second)
This term refers to the number of atomic actions performed by certain entity per second. In case of Contentos Testnet, users will see how fast a transaction can be confirmed, meaning how fast one’s favorite Youtubers can receive the COS token he/she sent.
